You will find those dresses all around in Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan and even Russia, by the millions... They are the cheapest one can buy, &quot;one size fits all&quot; (XXL usually)Uzbekistan cotton dresses, made in chain factories all around these republics. They are considered &quot;everyday&quot; dresses. Come Sunday or special festive occasions, they all switch to the dark wool version of it. Similar dresses exist all over the North Mediterranean countries.]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[This article is sweet! In the best possible way, it points to an aspect of Armenian culture and plays around with it - never meanly, just sweetly. How I loved Mr. Fullam&#039;s fear that it would not be long before the fashionable young Armenian girls he sees will be in those flowered dresses.

One thing to remember is that it can be hard work being elderly and maybe it helps to have those colourful dresses to slip on. It seems to me that in Italy, Spain and many other countries older women go to black and nothing but black after they have lost a spouse. I think I prefer the flowers.]]></description>
