This winter we had our holidays spent in Armenia, we didnt wish to come in winter but our family holidays were just aproved during winter season. Armenia was a very new experiance for us, new nation, culture and the most incredible part was their history. We stayed in Yerevan the capital city, Dilijan and short one day trips to old manuments of Armenia.
We have been happy with the entire trip but for Dilijan we wont say the same ! The hostel we have stayed turned to be an entire internet scam ! Dili villa B&B www.dilitours.de which we found in the internet prior to travel is a big shame for the Armenia ! Dirty rooms, bad smell, cold, no foreign language speaking staff and the worst is the food that seamed to be not fresh at all! We wished to leave next day but as far as we habe already paid the hostel full amount upon arrival for 2 nights, they refused to refund us the money ! We never experianced such a situation in any of the countries we have ever been yet!
We are very upset with what happened and we insist to complain expressing our disapointment towards a hostel operating in Armenia with very nice websites in the internet but infact ist just a scam cheating tourists!
Sincerely

The Molokans (Russian: Молока́не) are a religious sect, among Russian peasants (serfs), who broke away from the Russian Orthodox Church in the 1550s. Molokans denied the Czar’s divine right to rule and rejected icons. They also reject the Trinity as outlined by the Nicene Creed, the Orthodox fasts, military service, the eating of unclean foods, and other practices, including water baptism. They claim to be the direct descendants of the ancient Armenian "Paulicians", who became known as the "Bogomils" of Thrace, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Serbia. Molokan means "milk drinkers" in Russian, as they drank milk instead of fasting from it on Orthodox Fasts. uit: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molokan www.ianyanmag.com/2010/04/12/armenia-is-calling-me/ [...]

They are going to make an underground parking below those cafes at the Opera Squire, and even Tumanyan street will be closed for car traffic for that reason. But I do not know if construction started, there were sayings that they will start this Spring/Summer. Anyone is on currant?

What Liana writes so vividly is TRUE to the letter.No place in the world(and I have travelled and in lived many) has the charm, the magnetic attraction that Yerevan and in extension Armenia has-to me as well- am sure to many others.Around Opera there were-few yrs ago just a few cafes-las Summer more than a dozen..cafes that are so beautifull ,full of beautifull people and then some..
Oh Liana you have avery distictive way of making mre more nostalgic to go back soon,very soon..in mid May maybe...
One more thing if I do have time,you see als have mycircles there and also trying to introduce good stuff to public...etc., etc., etc., then I sall go sit in front of one of those "fountain cafes' around opera with an Orange colour cap and wai to meet with you per chance..
reminds me of Saroyan's "Chance meetings' for i have met there and talked to beautifull people...
See you soon ..

As poet Robert Frost wrote:
"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."
Armenia is not for everybody; it is only
for those willing to take the less traveled path;
For those with pioneering spirit.
For those who choose the hardship
of the narrow path, in contrast to
the leisure of the wide-path.
For those who love the highland wilderness,
With all its adventures and wounds,
For those who like the contrast
Of thunderstorms and mellow days,
heavy rain, snow, sunshine and full moon;
And all creatures giving the call of the wild;
"yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sign
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."

Dear Liana,
your words were right from bottom of my heart...I think about it every day, though, in very near future I'll move to Yerevan,it's kind of my life goal..to be there and do whatever I can to build my country,my pride..
one day many many Armenians will surrender to her voice,calling us all back to her..VIVA ARMENIA
