Fantastic post. I have the unique position of being a Hamshen Armenian, my family was originaly from Turkey near the Blacksea Coast. But we moved to Iran early 1900's.

I speak an old dialect which my Grandfather told me was an Armenian dialect, and I am very proud of my Iranian and Hamshen Armenian identity. We are Muslims but I am told there are also Christian Hamshen Armenians.. So we also used celebrate in Iran with other Hamshen families ( only about 5) every year vardivar which again I found out was Armenian..

As for norooz, we celebrate religiously and love it, and in Iran when in Tehran I found out that Armenians also celebrate similar spring time when they jump over the fire..

Thank you for these wonderful wise words:

"To me, being Armenian doesn’t symbolize an all inclusive club where only one set of traditions are observed and one language spoken. We are an amazingly diverse group of ancient people, who have, through the years, influenced and been influenced by a set of beautifully rich and magnetizing cultures, and denying this would be doing a disservice.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that simply speaking, diversity is good. Embrace it. And get your fortune read."
