While doing some research I came upon this article. Although it is a 2010 article, the issues still remain and must not be forgotten. I am glad to see that Armenia has moved to Tier 2 level, however much more work needs to be done especially in a country where women have only 9% representation in government, and whose salaries are 42% less than the "equal" male. Keep up the research and continue to bring awareness to these human rights issues.

This was a great article about human trafficking issues in Armenia. Armenia needs to protect their citizens and not turn their head the other way. Same can be said for Armenian Adoptions. Up until the Hague Convention was ratified in Armenia, adoption agencies would deal with a Physician in Armenia who with the birth mother pre sold healthy babies for $38,000. Bypassing the true older orphans who actually live in orphanages. Shame on Armenia. Today, Armenia is strengthening their Foster Care system and encouraging local Armenians to adopt.
