I cannot believe an Armenian wrote this piece. It is utter nonsense about these Aryans “hating” on the Jewish people. I have traveled extensively in Armenia and I have met these people who want to bring our roots back, none of them are are anti-semitic. In fact, what this movement stands for is everything Armenian, please do not bring other races/cultures/races into the picture. You described “Armen Avetisyan…the anti-semitic”…, why do you define this whole movement and base its whole purpose on anti-semitism and produce an intentional tangent that takes away from the real meaning of Vardavar and the Aryan movement.
I urge all Armenians to stop talking about certain ethnicities as controling this and that race, because by hating others you are only showing your own weakness. Stand FOR something, instead of always bashing AGAINST someone – it’s stupid.

Firstly, looking at the photos, no one is doing the ‘nazi salute’.
Secondly, Armenia’s pagan culture (the old religion)has alonger history than Christianity. Petraglyphs of Arevkhach (swatstikas) dating 10,000 years are found in Armenia. NOTHING to do with Nazism.
Thirly, these Garni is a PAGAN temple, any Armenian who identifies themselves as a ‘Hetanos’ has every right to practice their religious ceremonies at Garni in peace.
Fourthly, GET EDUCATED before you get disgustewd.

Sacrificing the lives or the limbs of these innocent and helpless animals to the so- called god or godess (what ever you medievel people call it), has got to stop. Stupid religion has got the minds of the humankind all screwed up. Religion should be outlawed. Has anyone given a thought about the rights of these poor animals. How about sacrificing your own children for a change. Yeah, I mean take your two-year old to church and butcher it, see if I give a rats ass. Better yet, why don’t you cut off your lil’ , coconut or your lil’ big hairy toe and call it a sacrifice. Do it the next ten years and see if you can stand up. Humans consider themselves ‘civilized’, I say that’s BS. civilized people don’t butcher then consume dead animals. Civilized humans respect the lives of all living kind. LIVE AND LET LIVE.

From my talks about the swastika with Armenian friends and family (I’m married to a Hayastanci), many of them want to reclaim the symbol from it’s Hitler infused symbol of hate and supremacy, and go back to the Armenian use of it as the symbol for the Sun God, Aramazd.

Some Armenians feel that Christianity is (one of) the main cause(s) for the downfall of Armenia as a great civilization and why it was constantly falling under the control of other countries. They feel that the Church with its position of “turn the other cheek” led to Armenia becoming a victim and a passive player when it was attacked. Thus some of them are trying to return to the pre-Christian, pagan “religion” that their ancestors practiced.

If there has been a move towards a more hate-filled, nationalistic, supremacistic view, that would be troubling and sad. However, it’s not the view I heard expressed.
