M, so someone is automatically a turk if they don't bow down to other Armenians? Nice way to fit into stereotype of Armenians thinking their kind are holier than though.

When I tell people I am Armenian they are surprised as I don't fit the sterotype of other Armenians they know. Every culture has a group in it that is the cause of their stereotype and it is never complimentary. It is unfortunate that this is so, but it is. Those of us who do not follow the stereotype aren't news worthy and don't stick out as a member of a group but as individuals which is what we strive to be. I am never ashamed of being Armenian, but I do find those who fill the stereotype roll to be embarrassing. They make everyone else look bad especially with bad behavior. Making folks aware of it isn't wrong since the desire is to make Armenians look better and that has to start from within. The author has very valid points and if it changes the attitude of just one Armenian to the positive or make them aware of the negative effects they produce by acting in a stereotypical way then something good will have been achieved.

Dear Author,
I was not only embarrassed but completely dissappointed after reading this article. Even though many of the remarks and observations made have been witnesed by many Armenians we the educated modernized and Americanized don't go writing articles to further embarrass Armenians and damage our reputations. We understand that each nationality has its diversity. Instead of bashing your own culture why don't you work on improving your etiquette and common courtesy of not providing materials for non Armenians to be proud and happy about? I see a lot of behavior from Armenians and non Armenians on a daily basis that disgusts me. I don't rant about it and turn it into a racial article...it doesn't matter if ur Armenian you're breathing hate towards a race...instead I work hard , make sure I am culturally aware of my surroundings on a daily basis and make sure I behave in such a way where anyone would want to be like me Armenian or not. Get real and get over yourself.
