Though I am grateful that such a book has been published, as someone who was once a member of this collective, I can’t help but be a little cynical. I won’t go into details here, but I would like to note that I wouldn’t call it a “movement” (or even a “collective” for that matter) when core members of the group shut out or push out other queer women who might disagree with them on some matters… I wouldn’t cite this project as an example of the “power of the collective” but I do encourage the issues it raises and the fact that it raises awareness about the lives of queer Armenian women like me.
